Suggested Airport Improvements

Operations that pose a safety risk should be tackled first.
Can't comment... I moved my Airplanes out of State earlier this year. Soon, I'll be out of California and done with all the
idiots running this City & State.
Removal of the unnecessary Landing Fees - especially for tenants of the airport that are already paying a lot for the use of
this airport
This whole situation stinks. The best case is mismanagement. The worst case, political corruption throughout the City.
Access gates have always been lousy. Airport lighting is a joke and barely serviceable. It’s blatantly obvious that city
management is try to discourage night operations.
What about the VASI? How are you categorizing it? The point is, its reliable operation is probably important to some
pilots—particularly newer pilots— and it has often been inoperative—I believe it should be more reliably available and fixed,
if necessary.
The access gates are frequently closed with no warning to users until we show up at a closed gate.
Office staff more amenable to their customers.
East gate breaks down about once a month.
Wash rack is off limits looks like.
Hangers need repainting
1.) Re-open second East Ts bathroom.
2.) Remove the vagrants living in their cars on or near Airport property.
3.) Be more respectful of their customers.
Not sure how all of this has fallen down over the years, it must be addressed.
Add enhancements to facilities - static displays, exhibits for the public, indoor historical displays, restaurants and other
venues that attract the community, lounge space. Draw the community into the world of aviation. Use this valuable asset as a
motivator and educator for STEM and aerospace learning for our youth.
KTOA is a pretty good airport in the broader scope. Yes, we must have functioning lighting, especially for the ILS and big runway,
but 29L/11R is also a critical part of the infrastructure.
It's also easy to find things to bitch about, but no one is talking about the tower, and I see that as a very critical asset
that is generally run pretty well. They are helpful, friendly, and generally very good at what they are tasked to do. The
Sling activity creates some challenges, but that's OK - empty run up areas and runways means we bad economics for the airport.
A bustling airport environment is good for everyone, and I'd say that if the tower can improve anything, its how to tighten
spacing somewhat.
The above items are equal to the same items that are on our surface roads so must be treated the same way.
maintain ramp and taxiway surfaces East-tees.
Re slurry east tees and ramp.
Install and monitor cameras that cover the airfield not just look for people throwing away trash and going to the bathroom.
It would be nice if the bathrooms in the middle of the east Ts were reopened.
The airport generates enough money to take care of everything I believe that there unwillingness to to make repairs is punitive
to the pilots because of complaints
I had a local restaurant accessible from the outside and inside as most other small airports have, So the community can interact
with the Airport. Ensure that all Airport revenues go to the improvement of the airport, not the general fund. Instead of
considering the airport, a thorn in the side, improve it, and use it as one of the best assets of the city of Torrance.
