CONSENT CALENDAR 6/3/2025

8G. General Services - Award Contract Services Agreement, Appropriate Funds for Site Preparation for an Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) at Torrance Municipal Airport - Zamperini Field and Adopt California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Categorical Exemption Pursuant to Section 15301. Expenditure: $710,600 (Non-General Fund).
Recommendation of the General Services Director that City Council:
  1. Award a contract services agreement to Royal Electric of Sacramento, CA (B2025-08) in the amount of $646,000 and authorize 10% project contingency of $64,600 for Site Preparation Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) at Torrance Municipal Airport - Zamperini Field, for a one-year period beginning June 3, 2025 and ending June 2, 2026; and
  2. Appropriate $646,000 from Airport Fund's fund balance to project FAC0017-6002-EQ0002 (Implement Automated Weather Observing System); and
  3. Adopt a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Categorical exemption pursuant Section 15301 (Existing Facilities).

8H. General Services - Approve Design Build Agreement, Appropriate Funds for HVAC Replacement at Torrance Municipal Airport - Zamperini Field and Adopt California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Categorical Exemption Pursuant to Section 15301 Expenditure: $807,344 (Non-General Fund).
Recommendation of the General Services Director that City Council:
  1. Approve a design build agreement with ACCO Engineered Systems in the amount of $733,949 and authorize a 10% project contingency of $73,395 for HVAC Replacement at Torrance Municipal Airport - Zamperini Field for a two-year period beginning June 3, 2025, and ending June 30, 2027; and
  2. Appropriate $807,344 from Airport Fund's fund balance to project FAC0017-6002-BI0001 (Renovate Airport Traffic Control Tower); and
  3. Adopt a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Categorical exemption pursuant to Section 15301 (Existing Facilities).
